The draft bill seeks to have insurers return 50% of the policy when the policyholder has not suffered any mishap

Deputy Ricardo Vigil also presented to the Communication and Transportation Committee Draft Law 115, which modifies two Articles of Law No. 68 of 2016, which regulates the Mandatory Basic Insurance for Traffic Accidents.

The initiative, which was sponsored by the government, proposes requiring insurance companies to include coverage for damage to state property in their car insurance policies.

It also seeks to have insurers refund 50% of the amount paid to policyholders, provided that no mishap has occurred.
