International observers from Southern Italy, who participated in the presidential elections of July 28, met at the headquarters of the Consulate General of Venezuela in Naples, together with representatives of political parties and movements of solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution, to raise awareness of the reality of the Venezuelan electoral process and the victory of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, according to a press release from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
The meeting began with remarks by Consul General Esquía A. Rubín de Celis, who analyzed the Venezuelan electoral process and the actions that President Nicolás Maduro has implemented to maintain peace within the country, within the framework of the Venezuelan legal system, and to confront the excessive attack, both nationally and internationally, after the announcement of his victory by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The observers pointed out that “we observed five electoral centers and we testified that the double-control electoral system used by Venezuela is impossible to alter or modify. As things stand, there are no documents proving that the opposition won the elections. The voting system in each constituency is well controlled. It is not possible to carry out any kind of electoral fraud. We must inform the world population about the truth of the facts. It is very difficult to control the fake news that the right-wing exponents themselves invent and spread through social networks. False information that is transmitted globally, where President Nicolás Maduro is labeled a dictator. Everything is complicated by the fact that this information travels quickly around the world, through applications managed and governed by Americans.”
They said that Venezuela is a democratic country and that during their stay as observers, they felt, after the elections, that the tension in the city of Caracas was very high.
