A citizen captured, from a balcony that overlooks the San Antonio station of the Medellín Metro, the exact moment in which relief organizations try to save the lives of the two women who jumped onto the rails of the system in the afternoon of December 30.
The emergency arose before 1:24 in the afternoon, at that time the Metro administration reported, through its social networks, that the commercial operation was stopped at three stations, “due to an incident with a person on the road.” However, he did not reveal what he was attending to.
A 27-year-old woman grabbed her 8-year-old daughter by the arm and pounced on the train that was passing through the station at that moment. The driver of the wagon stopped and, immediately, the relief agencies and the judicial authorities received the alert of the tragic situation.

While the passengers who were moving along that railway axis left, the system operators saw the two people alive and set off the alarms to start the rescue. Several units of the city’s Official Fire Department moved to that sector.
A person who witnessed from the height that moment recorded the brave work with his cell phone. “There are two people, there they are taking the second one out,” said the citizen. On the screen, officials are seen over the bodies of the women, trying to stem the complications of the coup.
Minutes later, they were taken off the road on mobile stretchers and taken by ambulance to the emergency department of a clinic. The users who were in the vicinity of the station also captured that moment: the lifeguards were running against time.
