Dajabón.– The general director of Migration, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, urged Haitian citizens who are in irregular migratory status in the Dominican Republic to voluntarily abandon the national territory through any of the points enabled in the border area.
The official warned that in the next few days the migration interdiction operations will be intensified, with a greater presence of personnel in the streets, to enforce the law and repatriate undocumented foreigners.
Migration reported that interdiction operations will be intensified at the border with Haiti
During a tour of the province of Dajabón, where he supervised the border crossing and the Migration Interdiction Center, Ballester indicated that the General Directorate of Migration has reinforced its staff with the training of hundreds of new agents that will be deployed in different provinces of the country. Its mission will be to strengthen inspection and control work before the increase of foreigners in an irregular situation.
In addition, he explained that modernized protocols are being implemented to manage the migratory flow on the border with Haiti.
These actions, said the Vice Admiral, are part of the government’s strategy to guarantee respect for migratory regulations and strengthen national security.
