The government stumbles upon dilemmas that, by resolving them, designs its ideology, its tendency, which allows Bolivians to have an idea of the thought of the MAS, other than its rude propaganda messages.

These days the dilemma was called Santagro. There, in Guarayos, a farm in production had been occupied by the vanguard of the cocaleros, the so-called “interculturals.”

In the area there had been cases of assaults on private property, such as that of Las Londras, which the government decided not to solve and thus remain equidistant between the law and crime.

But this time, when there are two deaths in Santagro, the government has not been able to avoid the bulge and had to define itself.

What to do: support legality or illegality?

The government chose to support illegality, to agree with the robbers of land, the oppressors, that is, the “intercultural”. He accused the owners of having brought armed people to try to recover the assaulted lands.

It was a very rare case of coherence in this government, which makes contradictory decisions every day, such as advancing the law to define any citizen who protests as a terrorist, precisely when the IACHR delegation is in the country. That law would create a situation in Bolivia identical to that which occurs in Cuba or Nicaragua, where the prisons are full of protesters.

The decision to support the assailants was coherent because a few hours before, President Luis Arce had announced the construction of a seven-story building for intercultural groups. Someone will have advised you that you cannot offer a gift to land raiders one day and turn your back on them the next in the case of Santagro.

Emboldened, the assailants now refuse to hand over the harvested soybeans to their true owners, to those who had planted it.

The government’s dilemmas deepen. These days he found that he had to defend nature and curb the use of mercury in gold mining, or support illegal mining, represented by Chinese investors. After thinking about it, the government made the decision to support illegal mining, the Chinese, and turn its back on Bolivian laws. In this way, in addition, he closed the case of the taxes that gold exploiters must pay, barely 4.8%.

There are several similar dilemmas that are presented to the government.

The fact that he chooses to support what is illegal, what is sinful, proves right those who believe that the idea of MAS is to destroy the country, provoke emigration, to remain calm, as a feudal lord, as they do in Cuba and Venezuela.
