In the ordinary session of this Tuesday, headed by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, the Council of Ministers approved the respective ministerial resolution that authorizes the economic resources for the extension of the Solidarity Digital Vale, a program through which 156 currently benefit thousand people, most of them with a high multidimensional poverty index.
To be a beneficiary of the Solidarity Digital Vale, people must complete the data update form on the website valepanamasolidario.gob.pa; In addition, the co-responsibility of the beneficiaries established in Executive Decree No.11 of January 13, 2022 and those determined by the Inter-institutional Commission of the New Panama Solidarity Plan are maintained. It is also indicated that there can only be one beneficiary of the Digital Voucher per household.
The Solidarity Digital Voucher is an initiative that is part of the Panama Solidarity Plan, created by the National Government and that has been maintained since March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, in order to alleviate the economic situation of thousands of Panamanian families.
Through the Solidarity Digital Vale, the National Government delivers, through the personal identity card, a monthly allowance of B/.120.00, which the beneficiaries can pay in local businesses to purchase medicines, food and first-class items. need, among others.
More than 1,300,000 Panamanians have benefited from this program, which has been awarded by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as one of the best Digital Government solutions in the region to address the pandemic crisis.
