The DIDA urges citizens to file complaints

The head of the General Directorate of Information and Defense of Social Security Affiliates (DIDA), Carolina Serratamade a call this Monday to citizens to formalize the complaints before this institution so, together with the Ministry of Health, to be able to give the correct follow-up.

Serrata said in the last three months 15 or 16 formal complaints have been received but it is known that in reality there are more.

“In terms of complaints, we have always received several, both in terms of health, pensions and occupational hazards,” he said at the end of the thanksgiving mass on the occasion of commemorating Social Security Week 2022.

“Any complaint, mainly in terms of health, which we have seen are the most transcendental issues in recent days, knowing that they have an institution that provides a service for free, that they have to seize us in order to be able to handle the cases, Both administratively before the Superintendence of Health and Occupational Risks (Sisalril) and so that the Ministry of Public Health itself can issue the corresponding sanctions to the centers that fail to comply, as is the case of improper charges,” said the official.

According to Serrata, more than 90% of the complaints received by the institution have already had a satisfactory result.

“We urge citizens to formalize, because truly, the cases have been more than that, but the formalizations have been minimal,” said the official.

He reported that when a case goes viral on social networks, the DIDA She is the one who contacts family members to give them assistance, when it should be the other way around.

“We have already seen sanctions that the Superintendence of Health must impose or disqualification at the time, by Public Health. For that, the files are being built and the appropriate investigations are being carried out, ”he clarified.

He recognized that the collection of advances in clinics and hospitals “is a latent case in Dominican citizenship and that as an institution, we have echoed and guaranteed the fundamental rights of each Dominican who has been lacerated.”

Regarding Law 87-01 on Social Security, he said that before it was enacted, there were no health guarantees, pensions, occupational risk or access to subsidies.

“We have challenges and challenges in the face of a modification of the Social Security law, which we are carrying out in the National Dialogue, coordinated by the Economic and Social Council (CES), where the Government has already presented its proposals, the business, labor sector and social sectors”, he concluded.
