The people killed in the explosion of the Saratoga hotel reached 40 this Monday, according to this afternoon’s part of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba (MINSAP).
The figure has risen over the last 24 hours. The rescuers have managed to access the double basement of the building, where it was suspected that part of the workers had been trapped.
The Minsap also reported that the number of injured rose to 94 people. Of them, 18 are still admitted to six Havana hospitals, among them six are reported in critical condition and seven in serious condition.
A total of 36 patients have been discharged in recent hours.
According to estimates, some people could still be trapped in the rubble. The authorities have reiterated that the search will not stop until it is confirmed that there is no one under the rubble.
