The debate on the project of the Family Code that is promoted in the popular consultation goes beyond the community, since its relevance leads to the need to discuss it in workplaces, students and in homes, said today Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, Minister of Cuban Justice.
The consultation process cannot be seen as something that concerns only a certain time and place, people must exchange on it in daily life to gain analysis, the minister emphasized during his participation in the work meeting that took stock of the year 2021 and projections for this 2022, from the provincial directorate of Justice, developed in this city.
The approval of the project constitutes a long but necessary path for the Cuba of the future in which the role of the family becomes a pillar of society, schools and institutions are part of that family context, he said.
Talking about the Code allows proposals to be made to add, eliminate or change an article in evidence of an act of democracy in which the people have a voice in the final decision that is adopted, he added.
Silvera Martínez commented that she had the opportunity to participate in meetings for discussion in which knowledge about subsections and punctual lines is perceived, people little by little understand better what is said and transmit it with precise interventions.
The Minister stated that jurists play a determining role in the process in relation to clarifying concepts, there are terminologies that can cause doubts and therefore do not have a concrete basis for what is stipulated.
During the meeting, Félix Alberto González Cabrera, provincial director of Justice, highlighted that without a doubt the involvement of the jurists of Matanzas in the popular consultation of the Family Code becomes one of the work objectives established for the current year.
Advancing in the computerization of processes, the use of the Welfare digital platform, updating of civil registry data and the completion of templates are aspects to be perfected to offer better quality services, González Cabrera said.
At the close of the session, outstanding entities of the year 2021 in the sector were recognized, and Magalys Acosta Echeverría as the best worker of the Ministry of Justice in Matanzas.
