forensic crisis

The morgues of this country are not enough to have the thousands of bodies of unidentified or claimed people.

The hands, the shovels and the pickaxes of the mothers and relatives of the disappeared who search for them in the earth are not enough.

The institutions are not enough to stop this endless pandemic of disappearances, murders, femicides and impunity.

The Debanhi case in Monterrey once again highlighted the inability of the Mexican State to resolve this serious crisis.

Nearly 100,000 people are missing in Mexico.

This week, the Senate of the Republic approved an opinion to create the National Center for Human Identification. An instrument recommended by the UN Committee against Enforced Disappearances to put an end to this tragedy.

Buuuut… just another good intention on paper.

Why? Because it establishes that for its operation it will not have its own resources this year, but will depend on the federal money that is already granted to the state search commissions and that clearly is not enough.
