In the midst of inflation and the fluctuating dynamics of the dollar, dates have been established to evaluate the future increase in the minimum wage for the year 2023, as well as spaces for labor and pension reforms.

Before the end of 2022, the dialogues between the government, companies, employers and workers will begin to finalize the increase in the minimum wage in 2023, the first meeting will be on November 30.

Currently, from the private sector, Fenalco, merchants have made a possible proposal to raise the minimum wage by 13% or 15%. Proposals that are currently in the pipeline.
Because as is often the case, there are other proposals that aim to increase between 10% and 20%, so that it can remain between $1,110,000 and $1,150,000.
According to the Central Unitaria de Trabajador, CUT, the salary will be discussed, but also “the labor problems that affect Colombian workers.”

Agreement Calendar:
– November 30 and December 1: productivity subcommittee meeting.
– December 5th: the agreement table of the minimum wage of 2023 is installed.
– 6th of December: negotiating table session.
– December 9: presentation of offers for the increase in the minimum wage of 2023.
– December 12, 13, 14 and 15: days of discussion and agreement on the minimum wage for next year. (Although on December 12, 2021 the increase was already defined).
– December 15: first legal expiration for agreement of the minimum wage of 2023.
– Decembre 19th: presentation of the writ of qualifications of the parties.
– December 22th: meeting of the concertation commission for the study of exceptions.
– December 30: deadline issuance of the 2023 minimum wage decree.
The Ministry of Labor, headed by Gloria Inés Ramirez Ríos, indicates that it would be at the end of December when they could have the figure of what that increase would be for workers in the country.
