In Avanza País the train cars are moving. The last stops include last-minute ups and downs, such as that of historian Cecilia Bákula (number 4 to the Senate) and that of real estate businessman Augusto Peñaloza, better known as ‘Uncle Rockefeller’ on podcasts (number 5 to the Senate). At the time of going to press, it remains to be seen if Maite Vizcarra is encouraged to be number 7 on the list of deputies.
But, without a doubt, the big change was that of number 13 on the list of deputies. The departure of Karen Paniagua has left Paniagüism dismayed, both her electoral and virtual followers. She will be replaced by Alissa Durand, an ex-pepecista lawyer who will have to fill the shoes of the Onlyfans girl.
BELAUNDISM
On Saturday morning, the Barnechea faction did not allow its rivals to enter the Paseo Colón location. The internal struggle in the lampa party reached underworld extremes with door closers and attacks included. They seemed like the times of the ‘coyotes’, the remembered coreligionary shock forces, perhaps the equivalent of the Aprista ‘buffaloes’. After much struggle, the ‘Chavistas’ managed to enter, already in the afternoon. And the National Plenary was barely held. After the interventions and controversies, a vote was taken. It was unanimously agreed that no one would run for another party, unless they first resign from Acción Popular.
In party stores, the offers have not been long in coming. Víctor Andrés García Belaunde confessed up to five proposals, including those of José Luna, Roberto Chiabra and Rafael Belaunde. He also confessed in private circles that he rejected the offer of 25 delegates who made it to him in the name of Ilich López in exchange for the vice presidency. After his refusal, the operators only went to Barnechea.
In terms of signings, there was even a rumor that ‘Belaundismo’ was preparing a kind of alliance with Libertad Popular, taking advantage of the electoral legacy of the surname. This would also be a way to capitalize on the ‘belaundista’ vote hidden behind the symbol of the lamp. Although it remains to be seen how such support would materialize in times of ‘no-endorsement’.
Other acciopopulists who received invitations are congressmen Edwin Martínez and Silvia Monteza. They were invited on some lists to the Senate. Paul Jaimes, from Progresemos, showed initial interest in signing Julio Chávez, ‘Vitocho’, Alfredo Barnechea and Leslye Lazo. At the same time, Maricarmen Alva was flirting with Renovación Popular and Avanza País. And Wilson Soto is also seen favorably for his story of personal improvement.
On Thursday, December 18, two days before the plenary session, the president of Acción Popular, Julio Chávez, met at the Haiti Café in Miraflores with José Luna Morales, from Podemos, son of José Luna Gálvez.
Finally, the AP plenary agreed not to authorize any militant to participate in the presidential elections with the symbol of another group. The only way left would be to resign in the next few hours.
ORANGE STORE
In Fujimorism, guests to the Senate stand out such as the lawyer Cecilia Castro, the former president of the Constitutional Court Carlos Mesía and César Astudillo, former head of the Armed Forces. and former Chavín de Huántar commando. Another political effect of the Peruvian cinematographic phenomenon of the year.
NO ONE KNOWS WHO THEY WORK FOR
There are also surprises in the País Para Todos party, led by Vladimir Meza and the presidential candidate, Carlos Álvarez. Carlos Torres Caro will no longer be on the list. His fall is not due to “talking nonsense” in Congress, but rather due to a problem in the exercise of his private activity. We’ll see Yamila Osorio remains for Deputies (Lima). And the incorporation into the Senate list of Leslye Lazo, current Andean parliamentarian and still wife of coreligionist Julio Chávez, remained up in the air.
On the list for the national Senate are Carlos Falconí (Arequipa) and Guillermo Bocángel (Huánuco). The latter is former rector of the Hermilio Valdizán National University and former Fujimori congressman.
The number 1 of the national Senate, on the other hand, is no surprise: it is the former attorney Julia Príncipe, factotum and personal friend of Carlos Álvarez in the party. Nor is the presence of Juan Sheput (number 4 in the national Senate) a surprise, remembered former Minister of Labor who met Meza when the latter was national youth secretary of Perú Posible, a position from which he was expelled in 2003.
Finally, in Alliance for Progress, former parliamentarian Roberto Vieira will go with number 7 to the Senate. In Now Nation there are Mirtha Vásquez, Ruth Luque and Indira Huilca. And in José Luna’s Podemos, the number 1 to the Senate will be the former senior officer José Cevasco. At the close of the edition, Pedro Castillo announced the candidacy of Antauro Humala to the Senate with number 9. In addition, he made official the name of the alliance between Together for Peru and the leader of ethnocacerismo: Together with the People. Coup plotters understand each other.
