The CUT supports the new Government and asks to improve working conditions

The Unitary Central of Workers, (CUT) supported the government program and the transformations that President Gustavo Petro has proposed to favor the most vulnerable classes.

Through a statement, the national board of the trade union center made a political declaration in the framework of its 70th meeting. Said declaration was approved unanimously by 136 official delegates from the 32 sub-directives and the national unions.

In the same statement, the CUT presented its labor agenda to the new government with the concerns and concerns of workers and trade unionists. In addition, the union organization referred to the importance of maintaining a permanent communication channel with the representatives of the Historical Pact in the Congress of the Republic.

“For this action to support the program and the democratic transformations of the government and generate and influence the labor agenda, the CUT, In addition to social mobilization, it will establish dialogue and agreement with the caucus of the Historical Pact, the Coalition of Hope and the National Agreement, without undermining its founding principles”.

The same way The trade union center expressed its disposition to be an active part in the construction of the Government program. They also point out that they should improve labor contracting conditions, and put an end to outsourcing, among other issues.

The CUT will work for broad citizen participation in the construction of the National Development Plan and will present in said space its work agenda so that a institutional policy of dignified and decent work; and the need to develop the labor statute”, ensures the declaration of the union organization.

Finally, The CUT supported the proposal of the Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, about to return to payment of night surcharges from 6:00 in the afternoon.
