The Sabalito Fest 2024 closed this Sunday in Villa Montes, Tarija, highlighting the boost to culture, art, gastronomy and tourism of that Chaco region.

They were two days of reunion with the customs of the indigenous peoples who live from fishing on the banks of the Pilcomayo River. The Vice Ministry of Culture announced that the next version of the event will be international, since the Bicentennial of Bolivia is remembered.

The announcement was made by the Vice Minister of Culture, Hiver Flores, representing that State portfolio. The support for this third version was noticeable this Sunday, on the second day of the event on the banks of the Pilcomayo River, when the Tv Culturas channel broadcast it live. He showed the whole country the show prepared by the organizers.

“The development executive (Karen Sánchez) has made this event very important, as it has enormous acceptance, as it quickly became popular. I want to tell you that you can be sure that you have the support of the entire Central Government. In the bicentennial of Bolivia, the Festival del Sabalito Fest, in its fourth version, we are going to do it at an international level. We are committed to supporting much more strongly,” said Flores.

For its part, the local authority highlighted that in its third version the event reached regional, departmental and national attention. There were visitors from Santa Cruz, La Paz and Tarija.

Those who could not be absent were the residents of the region, who gathered en masse. Visitors arrived from Yacuiba, Caraparí, Camiri, Macharetí, Cuevo, among other nearby jurisdictions.

“We are very satisfied because in this third year, this event has already crossed the boundaries of the department, as well as outside the country. This Sabalito Fest would not have been possible without everyone’s support who support us from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in addition to each of the officials of the Regional Government of Villa Montes,” Sánchez thanked.

Although the figures are still preliminary, It is estimated that about 6 thousand people attended to the event on the first day (Saturday). The statistics I could easily be surpassed this Sunday, during the closing day of the event. An official report from the organizers is awaited.
