The Cubans arrived dancing cha-cha-chá

cubanos, migrantes, Cuba, éxodo

Havana Cuba. – Jorrín, who was going to tell you? I don’t think Jorrín thought of stampedes like the ones right now, those massive escapes, those escapes that already bring together millions and, of course, not millions like the 1970s harvest. I think that in Cuba, and in the last 60 years, in what The only thing that we have been millionaires is in stampedes, in those getaways that already add up to millions. In Cuba we started to be millionaires from Boca de Camarioca. Millions have been escaping since then.

In Cuba we began to unite millions of exiles with the “Operation Peter Pan”, with the exodus of Cubans fleeing communism from the north coast of Matanzas, very close to Varadero, that Varadero that is said to be the most famous of all the seaside resorts in the world, which is undoubtedly a Cuban exaggeration of all times, and probably one of the few that the Cuban communists inherited and defended. Then would come Mariel, and then the stampedes after “El Maleconazo”, and then more, until today, which will surely be a little less than tomorrow.

The Cuban exile, the uprooting, could be compared to that of the Jews. Exile has made us reach the whole world, to the most unexpected geographies. There is news of Cubans in some places that do not even appear on the maps. The cartography of exile, that which could also be called “castography”, has enormous dimensions, and references to rare sites. There are Cubans in the US and also in Timbuktu, there in Mali, close to the Niger River.

We Cubans are everywhere. We Cubans have decided to live in exile, but the preferred one is, without a doubt, the United States. The United States is in our dreams, even in some nightmares, which from “some” have already become many. Cubans dream of Miami, Tampa, New York. Cubans dream, dream, and dream of a better future, but unfortunately they want it far from Cuba, preferably in Miami, although there are other places, many…

And it was the Government that promoted those first exiles, to easily seize property and have few opponents, but exile was never as great as now. Today’s exiles relieve congestion and that is why they are so pleasing to the Government, so decisive that they are very similar to a poultice. One would not have to be very intelligent to understand the decongestion that power fosters. Whoever leaves will not be in a 11J and neither in a 27N. Exiles in Cuba have the same function as painkillers, emollients. And Cuba, which boasts of its pharmacological development, bets better on outlets to avoid headaches and the real presence of aspirin in pharmacies.

The bad thing is that those who pack their bags to cross rivers and jungles prepare for weeks to later convince the US authorities of their “credible fear”, of their participation in protests and of the subsequent arrests, confinements, fines, trials, prisons . This is how those who were brave and a lot of brazen people leave, including MININT agents, and spies who could return as heroes, and in return for their heroisms obtain relevant positions in the political leadership of a very bloody nation.

My neighborhood is emptying out, and the saddest thing is that those who have left until today have not even made the “Patria y Vida” sign. I know of people in the neighborhood who didn’t even have to demonstrate that “credible fear” to enter the United States, even though they prepared the speech. I myself received requests, offers, from some who previously turned their faces away from greeting me, and then they asked me if they could take a photo with me, use the name of the independent journalist that I am to make clear the relationship with an opponent and do something , easier entry. I refused.

I know of someone who has just entered and did not have to show signs of the much-revealed “credible fear”, although he was preparing a lot for it, and they even told me that he thought of mentioning a certain alliance with me, with the journalist from CubaNet, with the “neighborhood worm”. Another one also left who gave me a farewell hug and who helped me in difficult times, but he did not ask me for permission to use my name, he just gave me a big hug, and said: “Give my jeva a spin now the girl”.

I know of a woman who is about to go out to make the crossing, and who is, without a doubt, the person who accused me the most of being a worm, and in a loud voice, but I am sure that her speech will take other paths from the moment she climbs to the plane that will take her to Central America, and she will grow between rivers and wooded landscapes and coyotes. And by the time she is already “about to show herself” to the immigration authorities, it is very likely that she will wear a lycra with the American flag, and that she will even mention me.

And this “in and out” of Cubans will also encourage the highest structure of Cuban power to infiltrate a lot of spies, and not five, let alone thousands. The Cuban government is guaranteeing their future. The Cuban government is taking care of the future of its income; each of those Cubans who today cross jungles and finally enter the United States will later send money, which will go to swell the state coffers. Many of those Cubans will set up networks that could be “Avispa”, “Abeja”, “Zunzún”, “Colibrí”, and even a network of gay communists.

If there is one thing Cuba knows how to do well, it is spying. Let’s not forget that the Russians did their job very well. And that is why I have the audacity to recommend to the United States government that it be very cautious and that it not leave the doors of its house so open. My mother recommended that the best thing to do was “everyone in their own house”, and that always gave her very good results, but the Cuba of the Castros will continue promoting those exiles that relieve congestion and fill the communist coffers.

Credible fear is not elucidated in a few very brief minutes. Whoever has traveled jungles and crossed rivers, who arrives exhausted after the enormous journey, almost always has the appearance of a hero, almost a martyr. Who spent days and nights walking and hungry becomes the living image of misery, it looks a lot like the persecuted even though he is an accomplished persecutor. live to see We will see new heroes on television. We will see again in the neighborhood those who today wield their fears. We will see them using the pretext of a reunion with family and homeland, without recognizing that they also carry the support of communist power.

Fear is also fiction, and for a long time. It would be enough to see a few horror scenes, which abound in Cuban life, and no longer in the cinema because there are no cinemas in Cuba anymore. In Cuba a real terror is recognized, but not everyone lives it. In Cuba, some of those fears are nothing more than fallacies, but they can be very useful to make believe what is not, what is invented, dramatized.

False fears and fallacies can be easily discovered. The liar, also the opportunist, has a speech full of amphibologies, and it is imprecise, it is very dark, and malicious. The many puns that the liar enters into lead him to contradict himself in a confrontation. His perorations to convince him reveal his darkest areas full of misrepresentations. Many Cubans have already arrived, dancing the chachachá. These cha-cha-chá dancers are liars and extremely evasive, even though they intend otherwise, and all because they are very afraid of being found out.

And it would be very good to pay attention to those who arrive tired, overwhelmed, stripped of everything they brought with them, to recount their misfortunes on the journey, the dangers of returning to the Island, and even cry, beg, and evoke the family, but they are little lies, and a slight breeze makes them fall to the ground. Many could be State Security agents, and with certain training to make believe that their lives are in great danger on the Island. I, who live on this Island, am tremendously suspicious, and it seems sad to me that so many soulless informers are entering every day to the United States, instead of paying for what they have done. Let’s remember that scene from “Plantados” in which a Castro prisoner discovers his torturer in the United States. Let’s not allow him to go unpunished, or let them dance chachachá in Miami…
