MADRID, Spain.- Cuban Jasiel Rivero ended December as the best basketball player in Spain, where he plays with Valencia Basket Club for the Endesa League.
Rivero was selected MVP (most valuable player) with an average of 20.7 in the last games of the year; with averages of 14.7 points, 5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
After not being able to play the first game of the month due to injuries, he had 20 points and 6 rebounds for a PIR of 28 in the victory against Bàsquet Girona; 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for a PIR of 19 in the victory against Covirán Granada; and 13 points and 3 rebounds for a PIR of 15 on the Gran Canaria court.

“Cuban Jasiel Rivero is being one of the proper names of the season and concludes the year by being crowned Movistar MVP for the month of December,” he said. Europe Press by sharing the news.
Jasiel Rivero had already been selected MVP last October with averages of 19 points, 5.8 rebounds and a PIR of 26.5.
It is worth noting that the Movistar MVP of the month in the 2022-23 season is awarded to the player with the highest average rating during the month. He also has to have competed in at least two thirds of the matches and won at least half.
The 29-year-old Cuban power forward made his debut in the Endesa League with San Pablo Burgos in 2018. San Pablo Burgos loaned him to Boca Juniors to play in the 2018-19 National Basketball League.
He signed with Valencia Basket Club in July 2021 for two seasons. During the 2021-22 campaign, he averaged 9.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 31 games, while in the Playoffs he had a performance of 13 points, 3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 3 games. He excelled in the second game against Baskonia, with 27 points and a PIR of 31.
