After two years of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cuba Athletics Cup returns this 2022 with competitive activity from the next 18 to 20 at the Pan-American Stadium in Havana.

Back to the Cuba Cup, according to the program provided to the press by the national commission of the discipline, the tournament will begin on Friday the 18th with the dispute of 15 finals, including the 100 meter dash (m/p) in one and the other sex.

There you can enjoy the rivalry between the sprinters Shainer Reginfo and Jenns Fernández, the first of them bronze medalist in the hectometer in the World Junior Athletics Championships that hosted Nairobi, Kenya, last year.

According to the program provided to the press by the national commission of the discipline, 18 sets of medals will be discussed on Saturday, including those of the heptathlon and decathlon that will have their competitions closed that day.

Finally, on Sunday there will be 14 finals in events such as the women’s discus throw and the men’s long jump, among others, with the possible presence of discus throwers Yaimé Pérez and Denia Caballero, as well as Juan Miguel Echevarría.

In the case of Pérez and Caballero, they know what it means to be world champions in their specialty and they also have an Olympic bronze medal in their record; while Echevarría won the silver metal in the fight under the five rings of Tokyo 2020.
