Officials from the Homicide Investigation Division of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC), after intense field investigations, managed to locate and arrest Wilfredo Paz, 38 years old, for causing the death of Viviana Lilibeth Garcia Garcia32 years old; along with her three small children Eiberson Adrian Cumana Garcia, 10 years old; Emerson Aaron Cumana Garcia, 7 years old; and Mia Cumana Garcia, 5 years old. Crime occurred on August 23 in the Ciudad Caribia urban complex, Sucre parish, Libertador municipality, Caracas.
Through investigations it was discovered that Paz was Viviana’s partner and did not accept the end of the relationship, so he showed up at the victims’ home in the early hours of the morning, entering through the roof in order to verify if the woman was with her new partner. However, he only found an identity card of another man, which caused an argument due to jealousy. The criminal took some knives that were in the house and initially attacked Viviana.
The children realise what happened, recognise the murderer and hide in the bathroom asking for help, but the attacker managed to force the door and kill them with the knife. After these events he left the place at 5 in the morning, heading to his workplace.
Thanks to the investigations, the perpetrator was captured in the El Encanto sector, La Vega parish, managing to locate as evidence the clothing he was wearing on the day of the crime. The subject led the commissioners to where he had hidden the knives used.
The bodies of the victims were found on the night of Saturday, August 24, by the maternal grandmother of the infants when she went to pick up the bag from the Clap and noticed that her daughter had not shown up to look for her, so she called her several times on the phone but could not get through, she decided to go to her daughter’s house and that is when she found the lifeless body next to that of her three grandchildren.
The case is being handled by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
