French actor Jean Gustav Poiré (Jean Poiret) author of The Cage of Madwomen, never acted outside of France in any of the films that were made. Of course, with more than 40 films behind him, he acted under the orders of great directors such as Truffaut, Chabrol, René Clair or Marcel Camus.
He died in 1992 (his centenary will be commemorated in 2026), his work has transcended him, especially because through a comedy of entanglements, he drew a reality that continues to exist today both on stage and in reality.

Live music
For some time now it has become common that many of the musicals have been made with recorded music, something that goes against the laws of quantum physics of musicals.
Dante Cucurullo, musical director, has responded to elCaribe: “You know that I would be incapable of having my musicians there dubbing a recording! We go with a small orchestra of 9 musicians; but the music that will play is the original from Broadway! ”, he expressed.
The cage of the crazy
Zaza and George, a charming gay couple, are the owners of a famous transvestite club: La cage de las locas (“La cage aux folles”). His life will be turned upside down when the gay couple’s son, Jean Michel, 20, decides to marry his girlfriend Ann Din Don, daughter of an important extremely conservative politician, Edward Dindon, whose motto is “Family, Progress and Moral”. The conflict begins with Jean-Michel’s request to his father so that on the day of the presentation of his in-laws, Zaza and George hide their connection to the cabaret La cage de las locas (“La cage aux folles”)
