From the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) it was said that there has been a decrease in cases: 37,000 from January 15 to 21, 2022. However, the figures shared daily by the same institution add up to 50,632.
As positive qualified the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzon, the decrease in cases of COVID-19 in the third week of January 2022.
According to the Minister, there has been a decrease of 10,000 cases, compared to those reported the second week, “in which we had 47,053. In this week we have 37,180 reported cases confirmed in our country”, reported Garzón.
However, daily, the MSP issues an infographic where the progress of the virus is known and it is that same official information that contradicts itself. In the third week of January 2022, from 15 to 21, according to said infographic, the increase in cases is 50,632.
The MSP detailed, on January 15, 2022, that there were 614,032 cases, while on January 21 there were 664,664. The rest details that they are more than 50,000 and not 37,000.

Furthermore, he reiterated that the third week the cases decreased. But he gave no explanation as to why the official figures are contradicted.
After the recurring questions, in a press chat, the MSP, this January 23, 2022, has announced that “it will activate a spokesperson in the next few hours to answer all questions related to this issue.” (AVV)
