Trinidad, Sucre, La Paz, Cochabamba march in repudiation of the arrest of the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho. “To the Bolivian population and the International Community, we are writing to denounce that the government of Luis Arce Catacora and the MAS are using the argument of a coup d’état to violently attack opposition leaders and the population of Santa Cruz, using the Police Boliviana, the Public Ministry and hooded groups cause anxiety in the city of Santa Cruz”, reads part of the public pronouncement of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights of Oruro (Apdho).

Likewise, from Tarija the vice president of the Pro Interests Committee, Marco Guaygua, revealed that on Thursday the protest measures will be defined in support of Santa Cruz and based on what a meeting of the national civic movement decides to take place this Wednesday.

“However, yesterday a group of women gathered in public walks in the city of Tarija in repudiation of the government’s actions for the violent arrest of Camacho a week ago,” said David Maygua, correspondent for El Deber in the capital Chapaca.

Meanwhile, the capital of Cochabamba has started recurring marches in favor of the governor and against police repression for a few days. On Tuesday, at the call of the National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade), a massive demonstration took place.

Meeting of civics of the country

On the other hand, it is known that the country’s civics will meet in Santa Cruz to determine the peaceful actions they will carry out in the nine departments in demand for the release of the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho. It is not yet known when the meeting will take place. Fernando Larach, first vice president of the Committee for Santa Cruz, confirmed that it will be in the Santa Cruz capital.
