The electoral body determined that the alleged omissions detected in the income item do not merit exclusion, but rather an administrative correction through marginal annotation, in accordance with the current legal framework approved by the National Election Jury (JNE) for this electoral process.
With this decision, the Special Electoral Jury (JEE) Lima Center 1 confirms that Country Advances maintains its presidential formula enabled, while the official schedule of the elections continues that will culminate with the vote on April 12, as established by the JNE.
Tacha questioned the resume and income declared by José Williams
The appeal was presented by a citizen who questioned the veracity of the amounts declared by Joseph Williams on his resume, especially in the section on annual income as a congressman and retired military man. He also alleged differences with the records of the Comptroller’s Office and with the statements of other candidates.
He JEE analyzed that the information observed corresponds to fiscal year 2024 and that some economic benefits cited by the complainant were created by laws published in 2025, so they were not required in the declaration presented for the general elections 2026.
The referee concluded that there was no intentional falsehood or concealment of sentences or other serious impediments. For this reason, he ruled out the creation of a cause for exclusion and specified that the regulations only allow a candidate to be removed when a firm criminal record is omitted.
JEE provides correction to the resume and keeps Avanza País in the electoral race
As a measure of transparency, the JEE Lima Center 1 ordered that a marginal annotation be incorporated into the resume of Joseph Williamsin order to specify and expand the information on your income declared before the electoral system.
