The country accounts for 20% of Wingo's international routes

New route

A month will be made available three thousand chairs between both routes, distributed in two weekly frequencies on Thursday and Sunday, explained Jiménez, Commercial and Planning director of Wingo. The launch took place in Airport Americas International (AILA), terminal with which Wingo already adds three international routes. The airline It currently offers six weekly flights on the Bogotá-Santo Domingo route and three weekly flights on the Medellín-Santo Domingo route.

Currently, Dominicans require a visa to enter Panama, a country that also offers a shopping tourist visa for foreigners who want to take advantage of the Colon Free Zone.

However, the Panamanian ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Paul Perez Camposspoke about the possibility of having a credit card in the future sightseeing open to all Dominicans. Panama is part of the Alliance for Development in Democracy that forms together with Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

Pérez Campos announced that the process is in “frank dialogue” between the authorities of the Dominican Republic and the Central American country, as he pointed out that its president, Laurentino Cortizo, is carrying out an “aggressive” policy of reactivating the sightseeing.

The diplomat also appreciated that Wingo connect Panama City with Santo Domingo. “It brings us closer as nations, it brings us closer in friendship, in trade, in culture,” said Pérez Campos.
