The Council of the Americas holds its nineteenth edition in Buenos Aires

As usual, the presentations will begin with the president and executive director of the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas, Susan Segal.

The Council of the Americas will hold its nineteenth edition this Thursday in the city of Buenos Aires, with the participation of governors, diplomats, officials from the country and abroad, and a panel dedicated to analyzing current energy issues.

The meeting will return take place at the Alvear hotel in person after three years, since in 2020 and 2021 the coronavirus pandemic forced it to be carried out remotely.

The organizers of the meeting confirmed that the event will have the presentation by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

“This important event in Argentina will bring together key government officials, legislators and distinguished leaders, both from the country and abroad, to address the economic and political landscape, as well as the growth prospects of Latin America amid the current challenging global context” , highlighted the organizers.

As usual, the presentations will begin with the president and executive director of the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas, Susan Segal, and the head of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services, Mario Grinman.

Next, it will be the turn of the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

The Undersecretary for Economic Growth of the United States, José Fernández, will be in charge of speaking before the dialogue between the ambassadors of Argentina in Washington, Jorge Argüello, and the United States in Buenos Aires, Marc Stanley, moderated by Segal.

A presentation by Sergio Díaz-Granados, executive president of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF, former Andean Development Corporation) is scheduled, and then it will be the turn of the business panel on energy.

The panel is made up of Juan Martin Bulgheroni, Vice President of Upstream Strategy and Planning at PAE (Pan American Energy); Guillermo Calo, director of the Rincon Lithium Project, Rio Tinto; Matías Campodónico, president for Argentina and South Latin America Region of Dow; and Martín Genesio, president and CEO of AES Argentina.

Close to noon there will be a conversation between the governors of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales; Salta, Gustavo Saenz; and from Mendoza, Rodolfo Suarez.
