The contract for the production of the documentary series Cannibal, promoted by the former president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Arturo Zaldívar Lelo de Larrea, had an increase of almost 2 million pesos, for which its total cost amounted to 14 million 492 thousand 576 pesos. In addition, the agreement entered into between the highest court and Javier Tejado Dondé, a Televisa executive, recognizes the latter as co-producer of the video, granting him powers over the copyright of the work.
The data on the cost of this work, released by the highest court through requests for public information, have been contradictory. Last December, a first report reported that it implied a total expense of 12 million 734 thousand 59 pesos with 60 cents plus VAT.
However, the full contract has now been released, signed in November 2021 by the senior officer of the SCJN, Diego Gutiérrez Morales, and Tejado Dondé, in which both are recognized as co-producers of the documentary.
This document establishes a base cost of 12 million 493 thousand 600 pesos, but to which must be added one million 998 thousand 976 pesos of VAT, plus other unspecified amounts. to hire additional music than originally estimated and adjust the budget derived from lower spending on certain items and higher spending on others
according to the amending agreement of the original contract, signed on April 26, 2022.
