Santo Domingo.– The National Statistics Office (ONE) reported that in December 2025, the Direct Cost Index of Housing Construction (ICDV) was 236.17 pointsregistering a decrease of 0.43 compared to November, when the index stood at 235.73.
According to the institution, from December 2024 to date, the ICDV accumulated a positive variation of 3.72%showing a moderate increase in construction costs in the last year.
By type of housing, the values were 242.22 for the single family home of one level, 238.18 for single-family housing with two levels, 232.25 for multi-family housing with four levels and 231.99 for multi-family housing with eight levels or more.
Regarding the cost groups, the labor did not present changesremaining at 0.00%. However, the other components of construction registered decreases such as machinery with -0.14% and tools with -0.21%.
Likewise, subcontracts and materials recorded the largest reduction with -0.24% and 1.48%, respectively.
By subgroups, the main positive monthly variations They were recorded in cements and glues, with 5.12%; electrical accessories, with 1.95%; steels, with 1.92%; PVC pipes and parts, with 1.40%; as well as in the equipment and devices of hydro-sanitary facilities, with 0.64%;
While the most notable decreases were observed in electrical miscellaneous items, with -24.10%. painting, with -7.49%; blocks and others, with -4.29%; wires, nails, zinc and others, with -1.67%; and completion subcontract, with -1.43%.
