Andi and Fenalco data on the demand for NGV indicate that the increase in the commercialization of these cars between 2017 and 2021 they have grown 18 timesIf one takes into account that five years ago the number of units sold was just over 100 and at the end of last year they were close to 1,700.

Thus, Runt records indicate that in 2017 104 vehicles were registered, in 2018 the figure was 390 units, for 2019 926 were registered; and for 2020 the figure rose to 1,546, of which 1,123 correspond to the segment of urban passenger transport, since the fleets of the massive systems of Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena operate with NGV.

(What’s more: In 15 months, works were approved for $ 1.2 billion in royalties).

But not only the growth in the consumption of natural gas in automobiles has been seen in its sales, it is also reflected in the number of conversions. To date, this process has led to nearly 690,000 units made the change at the end of 2021, which means that since 2016 more than 130,000 vehicles have switched to this energy, if one takes into account that for this last year the record was 556,183 units.
