This year, the sector Building could fall more than 3% as a consequence of the worsening of the conflicts and the protests that are registered in various parts of the country, estimated the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (Capeco).
“It is not possible to know for sure what impact what we are experiencing now would have on the performance of the sector. More than a month in a precarious situation, in working conditions, in the development of economic activities, tourism, mobility in general”, said the director of Capeco, Guido Valdivia.
The union representative pointed out that in building there are approximately one million workers, of which 300,000 work formally. However, he pointed out that it is not possible to give an estimate of the impact of the protests on job creation in the sector.
DEMAND AND COSTS
On the other hand, Guido Valdivia indicated that by 2023 the resources for social housing reach 7,257 bonds less than last year, and stressed that the disbursement is necessary because there is a high demand for social real estate.
In order to reach the social housing placements of the previous year, he assured that a disbursement of approximately S/296 million is needed.
Likewise, he pointed out that they do not have a projection regarding the prices of the properties, but he specified that these may rise due to construction costs. “I remind you that housing prices have not stopped rising since 2002 ″, he added.
