The project consists of the construction of a new type H sewer in Paso Curupí, very close to School No. 111 of El Curupí, which makes it dangerous in its current position. In this area it is also proposed to pave the section of “Ing. Químico Dante Irurtia” between Casimiro de la Fuente and the Cerro Police Detachment, and build a section of bike path to reach the aforementioned school from the nearby neighborhoods of Carmelo.
In addition, it is also proposed to include the asphalting between Cerro de Carmelo and Colonia Arrue, there are several kms that do not have bituminous treatment (between the end of Cerro and Colonia Arrue) and in others, resurfacing of sections that do have asphalt pavement but very deteriorated and old (between Senaque and continuation of Las Tunas, and the end of Cerro) until it connects in Colonia Arrue with the Camino a Calera de las Huérfanas, which is linked to Route 21, and even extends a few meters to School Nº17 of Colony Arrue. Therefore, a new asphalted circuit of approximately 10 km would be closed, which allows access to Carmelo through the northeast of the city.
María de Lima reports on what was done and will be done
The OPP Decentralization Coordinator, María de Lima, stated that this project “seeks to contribute to increased productivity in rural areas, through the improvement of rural road infrastructure, reducing the travel times required to transit in all the affected sections, reducing the accidents caused by the inadequate conditions of the pavement and the signaling, and something no less looking for the reduction of vehicle costs (fuel and repairs) of those who travel along the road”.
With respect to another program of the Planning and Budget Office, such as the Interior Development Fund, María de Lima, stated that to date the Municipality of Colonia has already executed 56% of the funds for the year 2022, which places it as one of the departments with the greatest execution in the country, “among the main works that are being executed by the FDI are the urban consolidation of Avenida Grito de Asencio de Carmelo, the remodeling of Las Quintitas street in Colonia del Sacramento , Avenida Batlle y Ordóñez de Nueva Helvecia, and Plaza de Miguelete”.
