The cost of medicines continues to be a crucial issue in Chile, and in response to this concern, Fonasa has updated its agreement with some pharmacies to offer significant discounts, reaching up to 75% cheaper than in the conventional market.
This agreement covers a wide range of more than 13 thousand pharmaceutical products, including those in high demand due to their frequent use in chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, with medicines such as Losartan and Metformin.
To access this complete list of discounted medications, Fonasa has enabled an online search engine that allows users to easily find the products included in the agreement. By simply entering the “Fonasa Drug Search” and selecting the type of search (name, active ingredient or therapeutic action), users can identify the medications they need at more affordable prices.
Once identified the medicines, accessing the benefit is simple. No prior registration is required; It is enough to present the medical prescription in the name of the Fonasa beneficiary at any of the pharmacies with an agreement. It is important to keep in mind that the medical prescription must be valid for a maximum of 6 months from its issuance to be valid.
Pharmacies that have established an agreement with Fonasa to offer these discounts include Farmex, Salcobrand, Farmacias Ahumada, Cetep Fama and Clínicas Andes Puerto Montt, with presence in various regions of the country. From the Metropolitan Region to the Los Lagos region, these pharmacies are committed to providing medications at more affordable prices for Fonasa beneficiaries, thus contributing to making access to medical care and pharmacological treatments more affordable in Chile.
