The complete list of all the countries that will not be able to enter Chile for 6 months

Due to the increase in the violence In Chile, an initiative has been proposed to temporarily restrict the entry of migrants from 13 countries. This measure comes after a particularly violent weekend in the Metropolitan Region, which left 18 homicide victims. Concerns about security have led authorities to propose changes to the Immigration and Foreigners Law.

The proposal seeks to suspend applications for admission to the country of migrants from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Peru, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. This suspension includes the processing of admission for temporary residence subject to contract, temporary residence for students and permanent residence. The indication presented establishes that this disqualification could be extended for an equal period if there is no observed decrease in the rate of undocumented immigrants and in the number of crimes committed by foreigners.
