A Dominican migrant went viral for his complaints about paying for public services in the United States. Although this type of charge is common in most countries worldwide, this man affirms that this would be one reason why, when a house is bought, it “never” becomes fully owned by the beneficiary.
“The other side of the coin is that, for example, in Santo Domingo you can have two, three, four houses. You bought the house, you bought the land and that house is now yours, that land is yours and you never pay (…) But here, for example, you buy a house and it is never yours, here in the United States, “began by saying the man who identifies as @domingobuenopauli on TikTok and who uses his channel to express his opinion on US issues, the regularization of Haitians in the DR and other controversial issues.
“You buy an apartment and it is never yours, it is never yours, because you have to pay taxes every month on that house. You have to pay, for example: electricity, garbage, bath water, dirty water is paid for, clean water is still paid, you have to pay for a number of issues,” said the Dominican migrant, implying that his complaints came from the payment of public services.
“The house, the apartment, is never yours, you have to pay it every month and if you don’t pay it, you know what happens: they take it away from you. In other words, you have to make two payments, the first payment to the bank and the second are taxes to the State, ”said the man in his video, causing hundreds of people to comment on his opinion on the matter.
