The presentation of the report on the progress in the organization of the mandate revocation process and the approval in the Congress of the Union of a decree to interpret the scope of the government propaganda unleashed an intense debate in the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE). ) with mutual recriminations.

Neo-Porfiristas, conservatives at the service of the old regime, pointed out the Morenoist Mario Llergo, while the President Councilor, Lorenzo Córdova, accused Morena of spreading fallacies and orchestrating a strategy with dark interests, people are fed up with cheating.

The councilors closed ranks against the morenista representation, questioning the approved changes steamed and at the wrong time to modify the terms in which public officials can pronounce themselves, as questioned by the counselor Uuc-Kib Espadas.

All this in the face of the silence of the opposition representatives, with the exception of the PAN, whose representatives described the decree approved by Morena as a desperate measure in the face of a process that projects low participation.

Bitter discussion in which Morena disqualified the performance of the INE in this process. The representative of the Legislative Power, César Hernández, highlighted that the decree approved by Congress intends to curb the biased interpretations of the INE to limit the dissemination of the mandate revocation exercise. After pointing out that the society appropriated the promotion of the process, despite the reluctance of the institute, he asked to anticipate the dissemination of the placement of the boxes, scheduled for March 28.

Llergo launched the most heated qualifiers against the councilors, accusing them of being at the service of the old regime. They are not a citizen council, they are authentic neo-Porfiristas, modern conservatives protecting their privilegesacting against the revocation under the false cloak of political neutrality.

The approved decree, Llergo maintained, is a way to correct the excesses that the INE has incurred, “because it is a legal and legitimate decree (…) we have opposed the rule of law to arbitrariness and invasion of powers. We are simply preventing the INE from exceeding its powers. They have fallen into the pretense of breaking the constitutional order and twisting the legality to undermine and weaken the most democratic and popular government that has emerged at the polls.

In response, counselor Ciro Murayama asserted that while the country began its transformation against the old regime, Llergo was part of it and reminded him that only cheats change the rules once the game has started. That decree intends to ignore the INE and the court that time and time again has confirmed the precautionary measures that it issued.

The counselor Carla Humphrey lamented the disqualifications to the INE when the progress in the organization realizes that it is in accordance with the established deadlines. She recalled that if there were no more booths installed, this was due to the budget cut, which is tied with the refusal of both the Graphic Workshops of the Nation and the Federal Electricity Commission to collaborate with the INE.

On his occasion, Córdova insisted that the revocation of the mandate “is going very well despite intentions to discredit the processin which the citizens have been involved, who have already agreed to participate as poll workers.

He accused the government and Morena of being behind false news to try to disqualify the INE, such as spreading versions that there will be no ballots. He mentioned that the distribution of the location of polling stations will take place on March 28, as marked by the calendar approved by the INE, 13 days before the exercise, when in the last federal elections it was distributed five days before election day.
