Zapopan, Jal., The Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, acknowledged yesterday that it is most likely that Colonel José Isidro Grimaldo Muñoz, who has been missing since December 10, when he was vacationing in Tapalpa, Jalisco, I could no longer have life
for the time elapsed without it having been located.
“We have been there for a long time, we estimate that it could no longer have life, but we are not going to stop. There are things that were found in Tapalpa, where there is a criminal cell of the Jalisco cartel New generation that operates there,” he declared at the morning conference at the base of the fifth Military Region in Zapopan, where he went to accompany President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
He explained that during the security cabinet meeting held before the press conference, they discussed the possibility of establishing a National Guard base in Tapalpa, which was authorized by López Obrador.
We continue to develop intelligence and presence activities in the area (Tapalpa) and based on the information obtained, we change the area. There have been seizures, the brother of the person we know kidnapped the colonel was arrested, some properties were seized with the support of the civil authorities, but we have not located the person who kidnapped him
Sandoval acknowledged.
From an early hour and before the arrival of the federal authorities who accompanied López Obrador, relatives of José Octavio Avilés Sauceda, a young man from Sinaloa who disappeared in March of last year in Guadalajara, posted themselves outside the base from 5 in the morning to try to speak with the President, who referred them to be attended by Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection.
Now that I arrived, a lady asked me for attention. Rosa Icela Rodríguez is already taking care of her, she is a woman from Sinaloa, mother of the disappeared young man
he pointed.
The relatives expressed that the boy, who went down to the Huentitán ravine to exercise, simply did not return and since then the search has been continued by people close to the victim, but without any results from the authorities.
Soon we will have a report on the searches, the searches continue to be carried out constantly, it is one of the programs with the largest budget in the Ministry of the Interior, so that we can continue to find the disappeared alive, we are doing it and we will continue to do so
said López Obrador.
At the beginning of the conference, Governor Enrique Alfaro and Secretary Sandoval pointed out that insecurity in Jalisco is declining in general terms and is below the country’s average.
January was a complex month, with hard facts that generated a wide local debate, but it was also a month that we continued to fall. We discussed with the President those issues that need to be reinforced, the possibility of expanding the presence in the Altos Norte region, on a route that will be defined soon, in addition to operations on the borders with Zacatecas and Michoacán
Alfaro said.
The Jalisco governor stressed that beyond issues where there may be a difference
with the federal government, in the security there is a coordinated work based on respect
