The Colombian peso has appreciated against the dollar by 3% during 2023

The dollar continues to fall and is already trading for less than $4,800

The dollar has registered strong volatility in recent days, related to rate hikes in the United States and Europe, as well as inflation and unemployment data, as well as local news.

However, so far this year the peso has strengthened (revalued) by 2.92%, that is, the dollar has fallen $140.

This Friday, the currency opened in the banking market at $4,610 and closed at $4,698 and registered a maximum value of $4,711, while the minimum value it reached during the day was $4,605. The Representative Market Rate (official dollar) for this weekend and Monday, February 6 is $4,669.74.

The exchange operations of this Friday totaled US$1,236 million.

Analysts said that the resignation of the vice minister of employment and pensions, Flor Esther Salazar, with a short time in office was one of the aspects that the market took into account.
