Two members of the Mauricio Luzardo criminal organization were killed after clashing with CICPC agents, assigned to the San Francisco Delegation of Zulia state.
The confrontation took place in the Yaguaza sector, Concepción parish, La Cañada de Urdaneta municipality, the scientific police reported on their social networks.
At that site, Cicpc officials attempted to arrest Alexander David Hernández Estrada (26), nicknamed El Colombiano, and José David Urdaneta Perea (25), nicknamed El Yoko, identified as those in charge of carrying out the hitmen ordered by the gangster leader of the group Mauricio Luzardo.
But the men, seeing themselves cornered by the police commissioners, drew their firearms, firing them at the investigators, causing an exchange of gunfire, resulting in injuries, and being transferred to a health center where they died after being admitted, the CICPC said in its report.
El Yoko and El Colombiano had attacked a house in the Yaguaza sector, with the aim of intimidating the victim, who was being extorted by this criminal organization and refused to pay the demanded money.
Further investigation revealed that the aforementioned individuals also caused the death of Luis Felipe Melean Rincón, 64, nicknamed Vipe, due to old grudges; in addition, they published messages claiming the crime through social networks, demonstrating that they would have avenged part of these disputes.
Procedure in Lara
Another similar procedure took place on Florencio Jiménez Avenue, in the El Pescaíto sector, Barquisimeto (Lara), where Cicpc agents attempted to arrest Juan de Jesús Zapata Vargas, 35 years old, who was involved in burglary in residences in the capital of Lara.
The subject started an exchange of gunfire with the officers, where he was injured, which warranted his transfer to the “Pastor Oropeza” Social Security Center, where he died.
Zapata Vargas had records for narcotics, robbery, use of false documents, theft and violence. In addition, he had seven requests from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 11th courts of Caracas, Lara and Portuguesa, for illicit drug trafficking, escape of prisoners and physical violence.
