Carlos García, deprived of his liberty in a jail in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca; he spoke for the first time about the case.
Colombian News.
Carlos Andrés García Hernández, son of Marleny Hernández and younger brother of Yhonier and Mauricio Leal, the latter a renowned stylist murdered along with his mother on November 22, 2021.
He is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence for the crime (which he claims he did not commit) of ‘carnal access to minors under 14 years of age’ in the Jamundí Prison, Valle del Cauca, and from there, he gave an interview with the program ‘The Informants’ of the Caracol channel about the case that shook Colombia.
The youngest of the brothers does not understand how Yhonier could end the life of his mother and also that of Mauricio, a crime that the hairdresser also confessed to and for which he is facing a sentence of up to 60 years in prison.

«When I called my brother Yhonier already desperate, his calm words were: Yes, Andrés… my mother and Mauricio are dead!”Carlos confessed the “cold response” that his brother gave him when he contacted him by cell phone upon learning of the death of his two loved ones.
On the other hand, Carlos assures that Yhonier was never a bad person with him and that his change would have occurred when he moved to the capital: “His mind was damaged when he left for Bogotá,” he said.
In turn, he seeks to find an answer to the action that Yhonier would have had towards his relatives: “Suddenly, he took a grudge because my mother was all Mauricio, Mauricio, Mauricio…”, he specified.
For Carlos, suspicions about Yhonier increased when, months before the death of Mauricio and Marleny, he told him that he was “drowning in debt”: “I owe 300 million pesos,” Yhonier would have told his relative.
Faced with this problem, Carlos would have suggested to Yhonier that he ask Mauricio for financial help, but this would have been his response: “That man always tells me that he has no money,” he said.
Meanwhile, he assured that he always thought that what happened to his mother and brother Mauricio was never a “suicide” as was initially established as a hypothesis.
“That handwriting is not my brother’s,” he said.
