He Center of Operations emergency (COE) issued this Tuesday the first bulletin of the second phase of the operational of Christmas “Awareness for life”, in which 28 were registered accidents of transit on highways, roads, streets and avenues, resulting in a death toll of five and 39 affected.
General Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the COEread the document and indicated that, of these accidents20 involved motorcycles, two vehicles light, two collisions, one buggytwo SUVs and an unspecified vehicle.
As for the deathsfour of the five reports occurred within the operation’s device and the fifth was outside of it. Of this total of deaths, four involved vehicles light and one a motorcycle. All were certified by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).

The General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett) reported 6,827 inspections for different violations of Law 63-17, among which 1,956 stand out motorcyclists for traveling without helmet protector, 825 for expired license, 663 for expired insurance, 535 for violating the red light and 138 for speeding.
Likewise, 360 drivers are reported for driving without a seat belt and 139 for cell phone use. At the same time, 120 were detained vehicles heavy for traveling without permission, 316 motorcycles and 13 vehicles light vehicles due to traveling with people on the cargo part, for a total of 4,709 road assistance to drivers and citizens, which, together with medical assistance, totals 5,769 on this first day of operational.
