The COE raises the provinces on green alert due to rain to 12

El COE disminuye las provincias bajo alerta

Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) raised the provinces to 12 in green alertbecause cloudiness and precipitable echoes that generate rainswith isolated thunderstorms and possible gusts of wind.

The entity reported that the districts on notice are El Seíbo, Monseñor Nouel, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Duarte (especially lower Yuna), Hato Mayor, La Vega and Samaná. Likewise, Montecristi, La Altagracia, Puerto Plata and Hermanas Mirabal.

The COE recommends that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and glens that present high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, it urges operators of fragile, small and medium Vessels navigate near the coastal perimeter along the entire Atlantic coast.
