The first day of the Codicader Games for Students with Disabilities began full of energy and camaraderie among the participants, from the seven Central American nations that are competing at the Irving Saladino Sports City.

The Panamanian delegation achieved an important victory in its debut by defeating Guatemala 22 – 19, in a duel played at the Roberto Durán Arena, corresponding to the men’s category.
For its part, the women’s team lost 1 – 11 to its counterpart from Honduras.
In another of the results of the first day, El Salvador in the men’s branch beat Guatemala 12 – 2 and Honduras did the same 20 – 10 against Nicaragua.
In the women’s division, Honduras beat El Salvador 22-12 and Guatemala beat Nicaragua 23-13.
Swimming.
The first day of Swimming of the CODICADER games for Students with Disabilities was held, which will be taking place from today, Wednesday, November 14 until Saturday the 16th. Panama debuted at the Eileen Coparropa Pool, securing 5 medals: Two (2 ) of Gold, One (1) of silver and Two (2) of bronze.
Diana Salazar (16 years old) won the gold medal in the 16-19 year old category of the 50 Meter Backstroke modality, registering a time of 1:04.72. The podium was completed by Zoe Ayala (18 years old) from Guatemala and third place, Sara Amaya (18 years old) from El Salvador.
Another who claimed his gold medal was the 16-year-old Panamanian student, Iker Arat. Iker competed in the 50 Meter Backstroke category, registering a mark of 44.17. Second place was obtained by the delegation of El Salvador, thanks to its competitor Rodrigo Zelaya (17 years old). The podium was completed by the young Panamanian Juan Abrego (16 years old).
It is worth highlighting the participation of the brothers Joel and Franklin Tuñón, finishing in 4th and 5th place respectively, in the 100 Meter freestyle (elementary students). Joel also stood out, obtaining 2nd place in the 50 Meter backstroke modality.
To complete the Panamanian representation on this first day, Amihir Saldaña competed in the 100 meter freestyle for children between 16-19 years old, obtaining the bronze medal. Panamanian Juan Abrego (16 years old) also participated in this modality.
