The U19 Interclub National Championship came to an end this Sunday, July 21, with the medal fights that were a delight to the large number of people who were present at the Combat Center of the Irving Saladino Sports City.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Nominated Director of Pandeportes, Miguel Ordóñez, who was pleased and said that “they have his support for the realization of this type of events that help young people.”
Ordóñez was also in charge of presenting certificates to the trainers who took the refresher course in training methods this week.
Also present was Deputy Yuzaida Marín from Circuit 13-4 of West Panama who came to support the young people from the clubs that represented the West and said she was very interested in continuing to support boxing. “From the Assembly, you have my support to continue holding events that allow young people to follow the path of sport,” she said.
While world boxing legend Roberto “Mano de Piedra” Duran was the star guest of the event and all the young people wanted to take home their souvenir with the greatest athlete born in our country, Duran said that “this is good for the kids to get inspired and have a better future in boxing.”
These types of events are possible thanks to Pandeportes, the private company that provided support for the event, the Olympic Committee of Panama and the work team of the Olympic Boxing Federation of Panama that continues to organize events throughout the country.
