The City of Buenos Aires once again became the epicenter of tourism during the celebration of Holy Weeksince it received 90 thousand national and international travelers.
Thanks to this, the weekend of Easter was cataloged by the City Government as “the best of the last 2 years”, since, due to the pandemic, for 2 years, the Holy Week it was not the same.
According to the figures, for this year the Holy Week registered “the best numbers at the tourism level since the start of the pandemic”, which indicates that the sector is advancing in its economic reactivation.
With the arrival of more than 90 thousand national and international tourists, an expense of 3,073 million pesos was recordedof which 60% corresponds to accommodation, since 92% hotel occupancy was achieved.
This means that, during the first quarter of the year, tourism has had one of the biggest upturns, since, last summer, a record season was also recorded.
With positive numbers, expectations now focus on the winter holiday season and the weeks that follow, compared to what the Government has already confirmed that there will be a new edition of the Pre-Trip program.
How was Holy Week in the City?
It is estimated that the more than 90,000 tourists who came to the City to spend Easterthe vast majority came from the interior of the country, which confirms that domestic tourism is gaining more and more prominence.
For its part, foreigners came mostly from Uruguay, followed by Chile, Brazil and Paraguay; this, given that the Government also relaxed the entry requirements for international tourists.
In addition to CABA, other destinations such as Mar del Plata, Partido de la Costa, Iguazú, Carlos Paz, Merlo, Mendoza, Salta, Bariloche and El Calafate, also reported the massive arrival of travelers.
