The chief of staff, Juan Manzur, and the Argentine ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, visited Santiago del Estero on Tuesday to boost the economy of that province in trade relations with that country.

“Our Argentine ambassador to the US is a man with a long militancy, a long history and is also a man who knows the priorities that Argentina has today and fundamentally the north of Argentina,” said Manzur, who was also in Tucumán with the diplomat.

Regarding the presence of Argüello, he stressed that “there is much to contribute and add in everything that has to do with commercial, technological, but also cultural and educational links.”

Argüello said that “Santiago del Estero is the province that leads the region’s exports and can find various market opportunities. It has a very relevant potential.”

Manzur and Argüello were received by the governor, Gerardo Zamora, and the ministers of the provincial Cabinet at the Government House.

The provincial president thanked the visit of the national officials, who came to hold working meetings with local authorities and businessmen.

“Trade from Upper Peru passed through northern Argentina and this changed. And this is what must be resumed: the path of growth”Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur

They then moved to the Santiago del Estero Forum to hold a meeting with businessmen from the province.

For Manzur, “the Argentine north, historically and we all know, was very delayed. This is what we have to reverse. And from what are we going to reverse it? Of clear instances. The presence of Ambassador Argüello in this territory touring, speaking with the businessmen who invest and produce, but also with those who drive, concerned about new technologies, investment, generating a better quality of life for their people from the phenomenal investment in public works, etc”.

“I celebrate this meeting. I hope that in the short term it will serve to generate and strengthen all the investments that are being made, bring companies, factories, industries, that we add value to what is produced in Santiago del Estero and in the north; that we can provide more work. And the only way we have to provide work is through investment and production. There is no other path,” Manzur said, reported by the Chief of Staff.

The official recalled that “trade from Upper Peru passed through the north of Argentina and this has changed. And this is what must be resumed: the path of growth. Historically it was postponed, but that’s it, we have to stop -I don’t know if it’s the phrase is correct – to be the Cinderella of Argentina”.

He added that “we have men and women who are eager, strong, trained. We want a better future and there is the role of Ambassador Argüello, who has a lot of experience, links, contacts, vocation and the desire to do it.”

Meanwhile, Argüello stressed that “our embassy is a tool of the province for its insertion in the United States.”

“We are ordering and trying to strengthen the bilateral relationship with the administration of President Joe Biden. We are progressing well, building a dialogue that, like all dialogues, has better or worse moments, but it is solid,” he added.

The diplomat also stressed that “an important place on our agenda is occupied by a program called “Federal Agenda”, which involves a work plan with the aim of detecting businesses for regional economies and exporting to what is still the largest economy in the world. planet”.

“We can translate this solid relationship between the States into concrete, tangible opportunities, into a leap in quality that does not involve much explanation but results and progress,” he said.

And he also postulated that “despite the growing strategic competition with China, the United States continues to be the world’s leading economy, with 330 million consumers who consume seriously and have a per capita income of 65,000 dollars a year. It has a diversified economy , with a great weight in the services sector and high investment in research and development. The United States should not be considered a single market”.
