This Thursday, the Impeachment Committee of the Chamber of Deputies will meet again to move forward with the impeachment request against the Supreme Court presented by the Government at the end of last year.
The debate, which began last Thursday, will resume today with the presentation of the authors of 14 charges against members of the highest court and with which the dismissal of the judges of the Supreme Court.
In this way, the Commission will analyze whether it advances with the trial against the highest representatives of the Supreme Court, Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
The commission chaired by the national deputy of the Frente de Todos Carolina Gaillard will listen to pro-government and opposition legislators, legal and social rights associations and lawyersin order to know the arguments that are presented against the judges.
As happened in the first debate, the ruling party must gather a regulatory number —that is, have the presence of 16 members— to enable the session, because Together for Change decided not to boycott it, so that the project sinks.
The deputies who will present their files will be: Vanesa Siley, María Rosa Martínez, Pablo Carro and Eduardo Valdés, this in relation to the three files processed by the ruling party. Senator Juliana di Tulio, from the Frente de Todos, will also attend to present the two files that she is promoting against the four members and against Rosatti in particular.
In addition, the Argentine Association of Jurists, which requested a political trial against the four members of the highest court, and the Civil Association for the Enforceability of Social Rights, which did so against Rosenkrantz and Lorenzetti. The same will be done by Antonio De Martino, Ricardo La Greca, Patricia Isasa, Pablo Llonto and Diego Sánchez, who also presented accusations against the judges.
