The Chamber of Construction of Santa Cruz presents the first green concrete

In order to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the company Preforte presented its new green product Ecoforte.

This green concrete, according to Julio César Suárez, general manager of Proforte, is a environmentally friendly product that will help reduce the carbon footprint.

Suarez explained that Each cubic meter of green concrete saves between 15 and 18 kilos of CO2 (carbon dioxide). “In one year, the production of 680,000 cubic meters of concrete represents about 360 hectares of forests that absorb carbon dioxide”Suarez said.

The technology to absorb CO2 is Canadian, it is the Carboncure system, which, according to Tomislav Carlos Kuljis, president of Preforte, It has moderate costs that allow other companies in the sector to incorporate it and benefit the environment.

Regarding the event, Aldo Sülzer, president of the Construction Chamber of Santa Cruz (Cadecocruz), highlighted this type of undertaking, while noting that the sector has drawn up the path of the transformation of construction betting on sustainability that began with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the UNDP and the adhesion to the Global Compact Bolivia.
