The CAS confirms that Cardiff must pay Nantes 6 million for Sala

The Lausanne court announced its decision in a statement and stressed that it considers that the player’s transfer was “complete”, despite the fact that shortly after the Argentine striker died in a plane crash in the English Channel, when he was flying from Nantes to Cardiff.

“After taking into consideration all the evidence collected and all the arguments put on the table by both clubs, the CAS panel decided that the transfer of the player from FC Nantes to Cardiff City FC was complete,” the court note indicates.

“Given that the conditions established in the transfer agreement were met before the player’s death, FC Nantes’ claim for the first installment of the transfer payment, in the amount of 6 million euros, was supported,” it adds.
