The Cali International Book Fair (FIL Cali) comes to an end tenth edition of the October 24 to November 3, 2025consolidating itself as one of the most important cultural events in the country

This year 2025 at the Cali Book Fair, choose Colombia as the honored countryin a celebration that will bring together writers, publishers and readers around the word and cultural diversity.

The event will take place at Bulevar del Río and Paseo Bolívaremblematic spaces of the city that will house more than 5,200 m² of auditoriums and literary tents.
Assistance is expected from more than 550 thousand peoplewith a program that includes 839 activities and the participation of 150 exhibitors and 1,400 national and international guests.
The Mayor’s Office of Santiago de Calithrough the Secretary of Culture and the Public Library Networkalong with the Valley University and the Spiwak Foundationorganize this free event that seeks to strengthen the love of reading and culture.


A fair that grows with the city
Since its first edition in 2016, FIL Cali has multiplied its impact. It went from 78,706 visitors to more than half a million, and its exhibition area increased from 1,500 to 5,200 square meters. The number of exhibitors and events also grew, becoming a key platform for the Colombian publishing sector.
According to Paola Guevaradirector of FIL Cali, this edition celebrates “a decade of union between the public, private and academic sectors, with the purpose of strengthening the book as a symbol of knowledge, empathy and diversity.”
News: children’s area and official pets
For the first time, the fair will have a children’s areaan interactive space with activities for the whole family: reading aloud, literary picnics, workshops, games and contests, in addition to the participation of more than 13 publishers dedicated to children.
Another great novelty is the presentation of the official mascots of the event: Fili and Alicharacters created to promote reading among children and young people. Fili represents a lost key that comes to life on the Bulevar del Río, while Ali invites the little ones to discover the world of books and imagination.


Guests and programming 2025
Among the confirmed authors, names such as Mario Mendoza, Ángela Becerra, Humberto de la Calle, Carolina Sanín, Gustavo Álvarez Gardeazábal, Mabel Lara, Alejandro Gaviria, Ariel Ávila and many more, who will contribute with their works and reflections to the national literary dialogue.
In addition, FIL Cali will present the project “Colombia in a book”which brings together emblematic works by Colombian authors such as Amazing Fruits by Gian Paolo Dáguer, The Most Beautiful Birds of Colombia by Rodrigo Gaviria Obregón, and My Kitchen Tastes like Colombia by Maleja Bestial, among other titles that exalt the identity and biodiversity of the country.


A space for coexistence and speech
As part of its social commitment, FIL Cali 2025 will include for the first time a Citizen Coexistence Laboratoryled by the Secretariat of Peace and Citizen Culturewhere justices of the peace and experts will promote dialogue as a tool to resolve conflicts and strengthen coexistence.
With more than a decade of history, the Cali International Book Fair 2025 reaffirms its role as a meeting point between authors, readers and communities, uniting Colombia around reading, culture and the word.
