Santo Domingo. – The general director of the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Caasd), Felipe “Fellito” Suberví, led a cleaning day from various ravines of Greater Santo Domingo, during which tons of solid waste were collected.
Suberví explained that this operation, which they have been developing permanently since the beginning of their administration, aims to prevent the spread of diseases and reduce pollution levels in the most vulnerable areas.
“It is regrettable to observe how in the glens Refrigerators, bumpers and all types of waste are thrown, a practice that directly affects the communities themselves,” said the official.
In that sense, he called on citizens to raise awareness about the environmental damage and social that causes the incorrect disposal of waste.
“We urge the population to be more responsible with garbage management for the well-being of their communities,” he noted.
The director of the Caasd reported that the impacted glens On this occasion they were Palma Real, in the Los Girasoles sector of the National District; La Fe neighborhood, in Los Alcarrizos; Remanzo de Paraiso in Santo Domingo Norte; and the Saturnino canyon, in San Luis, Santo Domingo Este.
The event was attended by hundreds of collaborators of the institutionwho worked on the collection of waste and the sanitation of the intervened tributaries. “Every year we continue to carry concrete solutions to our communities, advancing environmental sanitation and improving people’s quality of life,” Suberví highlighted.
When referring to the sanitation projects carried out by the institution, he highlighted that currently the Caasd has intervened 45 kilometers of ravines in the Greater Santo Domingobenefiting hundreds of families and generating a positive impact in the environment.
Finally, Suberví called for caution and recalled that the true reason for the celebrations is the birth of the Child Jesus, urging the population to promote peace, love, understanding and tolerance.
