Montevideo was the first international route that the Brazilian company Gol resumed after the most severe period of the pandemic, in November 2021.
The round trip flights to the Uruguayan capital from the Guarulhos international airport (São Paulo), which are currently daily, will become 10 weekly flights in each direction from next September 1, while from October there will be two takeoffs newspapers to the neighboring country from the Carrasco Airport, the airline reported.
Currently, there are 14 direct weekly operations between Guarulhos and Montevideo, a daily flight (from Monday to Sunday) in each direction. As of September 1, there will be a total of 20 weekly flights, that is, 10 outbound and 10 return, departing from Guarulhos in the morning and in the afternoon, and departing from Montevideo to Brazil in the early hours of the morning and the afternoon. This same variety of schedules will be maintained as of October 1, when there will be two daily flights between Brazil and Uruguay (or 28 weekly flights in both directions).
GOAL
“South America, and particularly Montevideo, is a traditional market for Gol’s clients and is of great importance to the company. To give you an idea, in 2019, before the pandemic, Guarulhos-Montevideo was one of the three international routes that brought the best results for the company. We returned to the Uruguayan capital in November of last year with four return trips per week, with the certainty that the offer of flights and seats will increase. By the beginning of October of this year, we will reach the mark of two daily departures for the neighboring country, encouraging a flow of clients who travel for pleasure and business,” said Luiz Teixeira, commercial manager of Gol’s International Markets.
The flights between Guarulhos and Montevideo are operated by Gol with the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which has capacity for 176 passengers.
