The regulations for the pre-selection of candidates for magistrates of the Judicial Branch, which is under debate in the Assembly, were delivered to the universities, although there is no final document. The secretary of the Executive Committee of the Bolivian University (CEUB), Freddy Mendoza, confirmed that they received a regulation that will refer to the houses of higher studies.

“Today the secretary gave me the document, well, We have just received this draft regulation so that we make the university system known, and we are going to send this to all the universities so that they they send us the considerations, observations and everything related to this regulation”, said the executive of the university entity.

At the beginning of March of this year, the MAS officially presented its proposal of regulations for the election of magistrates and on March 14 the mixed commission of Constitution began the consideration of three proposed regulations corresponding to the three parties with parliamentary representation.

Freddy Mendoza could not specify which of the three regulations reached him to their offices, although they declared that it is a single document and they began to contact the universities affiliated with the CEUB to deliver a copy of the proposal.

Parliamentarians reported that there is a “pact of silence” between the three forces to work internally and reach minimum agreements on a single regulation. Senator Silvia Salame (CC) said that On Monday they will present the agreements they reached before processing the document item by item.

“There is a detachment of the three political forces in order to reach a consensus, because all political forces have promised this country a reform of the judicial systemSo, now is the opportunity for them to keep their word”, declared the parliamentarian, although she did not know that the CEUB already has a regulation in its possession.

Mendoza said that the request is for the universities to carry out the analysis of the document and then Send the suggestions you have to the Assembly presidency. Which means that on Monday there will be changes in the proposal of one of the regulations if they take into account the advice to which they are derived.
